Well, majority of us who live in USA probably know what I am
talking about. I am talking about the lifestyle of
some Bangladeshi's living in the United States of America.
I can't speak for everyone else but me. I am very fortunate
that I am here, working, making US $$ and able to support my
family in Bangladesh. Sometime all these things come
with a price.
When my
parents in Bangladesh ask for financial help, I am always
there for them. They also expect that from me
too. Because they know I live in USA. Dollars
comes easy from US and makes it even 55 time better in
Bangladesh. It also give me a large satisfaction to be
there for them.
At my
young age, I am already used to working in two jobs.
Here is a little run down of a typical day in the USA.
Many of you who live in US probably relate to my life.
At 5.15 in
the morning my day begin. After an usual routine
morning stuff, I head out of my apartment at 5.45 am.
Six days a week my work is an parking lot attendant.
Till 2.00 pm everyday, I collect money from those who park
in an underground parking space of a high rise downtown
building. Its not that bad. I like it - I feel
for $8.25 an hour its easy work, sit on a chair for 8
hours. I get to see thousands of people and say
"hi" to them. My day off is Saturday of
every week which is also cool at least I have a day off in
weekend.
Well by
2.30 pm I am home. I get an hour of break. At 4.00 pm
I start my 2nd job in a national chain electronics store
called "Circuit City". I work there as
an Television Salesman. This job isn't that bad
either. Only thing is I have to stand for 5
hours. I work every day of the week here. The pay
isn't that bad too.
By the
time I come home it is almost 10.00 pm. In a summer
night its not that bad. But in winter its really horrible.
Sometimes it rain or snow which makes it more difficult to
get home.
The best
part of my day begin when I come home and hit the bed.
I close my eye and rest is history. Would you call
this life is hard, for some may be and for some not really,
but for me I am used to it.
