Young Scholar
Sangita Ahmed is our young scholar of the
month of September 2000. She is a teacher of Dhaka University at the age of 27. She was
first class 1st in M.sc. and in B.sc. (honors) in Microbiology. Her score was 90% in
her secondary and higher secondary examination. We wanted to know more about this young
scholar and asked her following questions. |

- How did you reach here today? Please describe.
Ans: I have reached this position through
my determination, hard work & sincerity. Continuous inspiration of my family
helped me a lot to accomplished my goal.
- Do you think it needs very hard work to be
successful in life?
Ans: Yes,
hard work is very necessary to achieve success in life. Hard work includes disciplined
life style, sincerity, concentration to study & most important is determination.
- Have you reached the goal, which you have dreamed at childhood?
Ans: Yes, I had a dream to be a teacher from my childhood. And, that
dream came true.
- Are you happy at this position?
Ans: Yes, I am happy at this position. Because it was my
dream & obviously it feels good when you succeed to your aim in life.
- How many hours do you work everyday?
Ans: I work about 10-12 hours everyday.
- Is your job very stressful?
Ans: No.
- How many hours you spend for refreshment everyday?
Ans: I take about 5/6 hours of refreshment in a day.
- What do you do in your leisure?
Ans: For me, company of my
family, is the best refreshment. Whenever I have my family
with me I get relaxed & feel the best.
- Do you think somehow you are contributing for the development of
Bangladesh?
Ans:Yes, as a teacher in Dhaka University & through my
teaching profession, I think I have at least some contribution in the development of
the nation. Again, I am engaged in research work of different fields, which are also
important for developing our country.
- Is there anything you don't like about your job?
Ans: No
- Do you feel lonely sometime?
Ans: Yes, because loneliness is a part of every human being
& every person is lonely in his/her life.
- Do you read newspaper, magazine, books etc. everyday?
Ans: yes, I read the newspaper in detail for a long time. I
also read different type of magazine, books etc. whenever I get a chance.
- Do you think money is everything in life?
Ans: No, I think money is important for life. But money is
not everything. For me, family values & relationships are more important.
- What kind of family responsibilities do you have?
Ans: As a part of a family I obviously have mental,
economical, and all other responsibilities.
- How many hours do you sleep everyday?
Ans: It is not certain.
- Do you want to go abroad?
Ans: Yes, I want to go abroad for higher studies.
- What are your hobbies?
Ans: My hobbies are to listen music & reading books. I
also love traveling very much.
- Do you think you might have disconnected from the world or
missed modern technologies by living in Bangladesh?
Ans: No, not completely. In todays world of Internet
& other modern technologies, it has become very easier to get connected with different
parts of world.
- Do you think you are idle?
Ans: No, never.
- Do you need any inspiration to be succeeded? Please explain.
Ans:
Yes, because continuous inspiration & support provide mental strength to achieve
success in life.
- What are the things of human nature you feel most important?
Ans: I think humanity & love for all is the most
important part of human nature. Because if every person has love & kindness for
mankind, then we can make a heaven in this world.
- Do you feel monotones in your profession?
Ans: No, as teaching was my goal, I enjoy my profession very
much.
- Do you feel yourself special among your friends, coworkers, &
families?
Ans: No.
